Nevada COVID-19 Phase 1 Update – Opening Back Up Saturday May 9th! $724.92. We have had a long partnership and have always enjoyed the product, service and value that their saxophones offer. He said that it played fine through except the higher notes and lower notes (I believe D and up on the higher register and C an below on the lowest register) are significantly out of tune. This Antiqua has better intonation for sure. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Whether this is due to the Vintage Reserve Alloy or simply the gauge of the metal I cannot say.

The Antigua Pro Ones come in at the lower range of this price spectrum but I find offer more performance and features than any of the horns from similar competitors in this price range. However, there are a few that really are great features and a benefit to the sax. There is a lways a guard available so you always feel safe. We were literally Antigua’s first dealer and still one of their main dealers. The lower F sharp key is on the stiff side but is fully functional. Once I started to back the screw off back towards where it was when we received it, the leak started to disappear. This is obviously optional and has to be purchased separately (information for this is provided with the saxophone).

The neck seemed to be a good taper that reminds me of a Series III neck from Selmer. The saxophone came inside a light case with every component well packed. This is most commonly found on Yanagisawa 991 series saxophones where instead of having two separate rollers for the C# and B in the left hand pinky cluster, the roller on the C# paddle is also connected to the top of the B paddle. This is not the reality of the mechanism. Going through it with some strength applied to the lever, I finally managed to play something, but there were air leaks basically everywhere and the high octave notes were simply impossible to blow. Full chromatic scale plays with no leaks from low B flat to high F sharp after the adjustment. Basically, the “Hybrid” setup is a more traditional bore through the bell throat combined with the extended bell lip. but the intonation problems were too intense to keep this sax. so i figured for 700$, when i was excpecting to pay almost three times tha,t why not try it.Looked and felt great. the store that i finally bought it thru sold it to me for $740. the retail price, (so the store told me) was $1400. its called an intermediate horn, keyed to high F#, hand ingraved on bell and body, its even got that dark laquor thing going on ( i dont know the correct term) and it came w/ a straight and curved neck. so it seems nice enough to me, as a student.but what the best part was i got the horn for a steal.

besides that it looks very beautiful, even if that doesnt really matter. it seems to play nicely, w/ easy responce in all registers. Minding that i am still only a hs student and have never played one before. I finally got my Antigua 586LQ Soprano on saturday. course they are all about selling me a horn, enough so that they shipped on out here for me. but anyone i talked to about Antiguas only had good things to say.apparently they are known for their saxes, and have recently done alot of research and remaking to improve their horns.anywaysm after a giant run around on trying to find a dealer in this area, i finally called the Antigua factory/warehouse in Texas. I asked everywhere i could, and either they haddnt heard of Antiguas or they just trie dto sell me somthing else. I have to say at first a was very skeptic.

I really wanted to learn the soprano sax, but i didnt have the couple of thousands to shell out for a decent horn and i wasnt sure if i would contiune to play. But anyways, i posted on here about 3 months ago asking the same question. i thot they had a factory in Texas, guess it was just a warehouse (?) i dunno.
